Summary: Attean and Matt are attacked by a bear.
Today Attean and I went out into the woods. We saw a little head popping out from the underbrush. It was a little bear cub. The little bear got frightened, but suddenly, a huge mother bear came thrashing through the trees. It was mad! We were 8 feet away. I threw the rabbit that we had caught at the bear. It gave Attean just enough time to shoot the bear with his bow and arrow. I wanted to help Attean kill the bear. I wanted to feel manly, and I wanted to be a part of killing the bear. I took out my knife and… Bammmmm. The bear lay dead on the floor. "We bring bear to grandfather," Attean said. It looked too big for two boys to carry, but we were strong and lifted the bear upon our shoulders. I was proud of myself. It was my first bear killing. We should celebrate.
