Summary:  Matt needed a bow and arrow, so Attean took Matt out into the woods to make one.

Bow and Arrow

Today Attean taught me to make a bow out of a branch.  He also showed me how to shoot it. Attean broke off some birch bark and started to whittle the branch into a bow. Then he took some vine and tied it to the wittled branch. He said, "Time to hunt for dinner." Since the bear had broken into the cabin, I was relieved to find out that I would not have to eat fish forever.

Attean handed me the bow. At first, I was shaking and nervous, and I thought I was going to miss. I stretched back the vine, aimed at the deer, and let the arrow fly. The deer fell in pain. I shot it right in the middle of the leg. It wouldn't stop moving around. I took out the arrow and put a bandanna around it. It limped away.  I guess I will have to eat fish again tonight...
