Egyptian Mythology
The Nine GODS
Egyptian Mythology
was first created about the time the Israelites were taken slaves.
Their main GOD was called Ra-Atum. This GOD first gave birth to Shu
and Tefenet. They fell in love and gave birth Geb and Nut.
Thess Gods also fell in love, but Ra-Atum separated them. Nut was
the goddess of the sky. Geb was the God of the Earth. This
made space for the living things to grow. Ra-Atum also laid a curse
on Nut. Although she was pregnant she could give birth to no children
because of the curse. Meanwhile, the creator had given life to many
others. Among these was Thoth, the God of wisdom. He added five days
to the year on which Nut could give birth to children. During these five
days she gave birth to Crowned Osiris, Haroers, and Seth. She also gave
birth to two daughters, Isis and Nephthys. Osiris and Isis were married
in their mother's womb and Seth married Nephthys. Together, these
gods became the nine great Gods of Egypt.
