Jane Booth Vollers

Jane Booth Vollers, a photographer from Chester, CT, was never trained to be a professional. She started photographing for an independent study in high school. She didn't expect much from it. But she was surprised at the fun she had with it. Photography became her favorite hobby. Later in her life, she started photographing for newspapers and Connecticut Magazine. She also likes to develop her film in black and white, so she could paint in the color.

After Vollers became pretty much an expert, she started teaching in a photography school, and worked in a photography gallery. She has worked for a dealer and a photography gallery in New York City, but then started to work independently. She now sells her photographs to magazines. She also submits her work to Photonica, a "warehouse" where people can find her work and use it for their books, magazines, etc.

She loves to photograph kids, gardens and landscapes. She despises corporate photography, like commercial photography, because they use digital cameras (she doesn't like digital cameras). She likes to use Nikon cameras (35mm). She specially likes to paint in things because she likes art. She says art is sort of a meditation thing.

Well, if you want to be a photographer, you don't have to be trained to be a professional. You can start anytime you want, and you may become an expert.
