Maria Rooney
Have you ever heard of Madeline L'Engle? Well, Maria Rooney is the daughter of this famous writer. She is a famous photographer that takes pictures of people and puts them in her mother's different books. She has also taken photographs of local kids and put them on greeting cards, postcards, and even some business advertisements.
But she wasn't always a professional. She had to learn a lot about photography before she did it for a living. She started when she was a junior in college, and has been photographing for over 20 years. She develops her film in black and white in her own dark room. She likes to do portraits, abstract, and photographs for books.
Like Jane Booth Vollers, she uses Nikon/Hassalblad cameras (35mm), and manipulates and sandwiches her negatives sometimes. She is a really good photographer and you may have seen her various work in many of Madeline L'Engle's books.
Well, if you want to be a photographer, you should try to go to a photography school so you can learn how to sandwich, manipulate, and also develop film. You also might want to try practicing how to take photographs with different cameras so you know how to when one camera goes dead.
Maria Rooney is a fantastic photographer and has a lot of her work in Miss L'Engle's books. You should check them out and see for yourself
