Janice Ehle/Meyer
Who likes jewelry? Well, Janice Ehle/Meyer, in Centerbrook, CT, USA, makes jewelry for a living. Her studio is in the attic of her house. She chose this place for her work because it is convenient and allows her to be with her children as well as doing her job. Her studio contains one desk with fine lighting and the back side of the desk is used to heat metal.
She started taking interior architect classes in college. Later in her life, she studied jewelry at the Guilford Handcrafts Center as well as different workshops in Rhode Island. She is currently displaying her work at Gallery 12 in Guilford, CT.

The tools for making jewelry include: a flux, a torch, acetylene gas, a polishing wheel, drills, hand pliers, a saw, a crock pot, pickling, toothbrushes, and soap. She uses many different metals, such as brass, copper, silver, and occasionally, gold. When she makes necklaces or rings she uses stones she collects from the beach and incorporates the stones into the piece. The longest time it takes Janice to complete a piece is approximately an hour. She enjoys molding her own pieces for variety and likes designing her own creations for admiration. She cuts the stones she find, and fits them into the ring for the finishing touch.
Ehle/Meyer says, " I like to make things that people appreciate so the person wearing it could appreciate it them self." Her silver, chain necklaces and elegant bracelets are a ravishing sight. Her pieces are not only beautiful to look at, but they are also lovely to wear.
