Early Tuesday morning, January 28, 1986, 9:00 am.
The crew of the Challenger got in their places. The mission had been postponed twice before due to technical problems. The crew thought the mission would be delayed again, because the battery was cold and damp. However the mission went on. At the Kennedy Space Center at11:38 am, the Challenger had a perfect luanch. Then somthing went wrong.
At 13km (8mi) above the Atlantic Ocean, hundreds of tons of liquid fuel ignited and exploded. The Challenger was immediately torn apart by the earth's atmosphere. Pieces of the Challenger were quickly recovered in the Atlantic Ocean. All members of the Challenger died!!!
