"A cruel war against human nature"

That is what alot of northerners thought which got the Civil War started. But the southerners were not about to let their slaves go free. Slavery was when white plantation owners or other white people took black people into captivity to work without pay and meager rations. It was a hard time for all slaves, during the war. But finally, slavery was ended which made all slaves happy.
