On May 10, 1996 eight climbers died while competing with Everest. It was caused by a major blizzard killing Scott Fischer and 7 other climbers with winds up to 75 mph. People pay most of the attention to Scott Fischer because he has a wife and two children. Right now there is a fund raiser honoring Scott Fischer.All the money goes to Scott Fischer's wife and children. Six of the climber's bodies have been found but two of the bodies have not been found. Even though it was mostly sadness in that disaster there was a little happiness. Nine climbers summited Mt. Everest. This is one of the tragedies that will never be forgotten.
