The
Canopy levels
There are four layers of the rain
forest. These layers are emergents, canopy, understory, and the forest
floor. Each of these layers has distinctive animal and plants.
The first layer is the emergent layer. This is the top layer of the
forest. This level can be 150 feet high. It is made up of tops
of tall trees. The next layer down is the canopy level. These
trees are 60-90 feet tall. The third layer down is th understory.
These trees can reach to 50 feet high. The next layer down is the
forest floor. It is full of branches, roots, and leaves from trees.
