What is cloning?
The word cloning doesn’t come up in a person's vocabulary very often. There are others who may have never heard of the word cloning. So what is cloning, you may ask?
Cloning is basically making a living organism from another living organism.
Or, as defined in the Webster's New World Dictionary, "A group of plants all of whose members are directly descended from a single individual, as by drafting or budding."
Though, many people have now heard of Dolly, the sheep. Dolly was cloned in 1997. This break through got the nation rolling with excitement, but there are still many worries that people have. We will get into that in, What are the pros and cons of cloning? That concludes this web page.
What Can We Clone?
Many people come up with the same question, "What can we clone?" You already know that we can clone farm animals, but can we clone humans? Many scientists want to be able to see if this is possible. Though, it would be very hard since the government will not give any money to help out with this experiment.
Scientists believe that cloning a human is very possible. Although, it would be a very costly project to try and succeed. We could also put people's lives in danger. This is another reason the U.S government doesn't allow scientist to clone.
We can actually clone anything that has a living cell. Being able to do such a remarkable thing leads to perhaps saving endangered species.
