The jobs the spies had were to break codes.
They also gave misinformation to their enemies. The spies would lie
and say they were on one side; but they would really be on the other side.
They would dress like normal people to trick their enemies. If they
got caught they wouldn't give any information. Often they would kill themselves
so they wouldn't be forced by the Germans to share their secrets. They
would spy and steal their enemies information. Spies usually worked
by themselves. Some spies were traitors, but most were not.
