Round Table
After serving as page
and as squire,
these
noblemen became knights of the British Empire
They slayed the evil, they helped
the oppressed,
they gave mercy to those in need, they were the best
of the best.
Merlin designed the famous round table as perfectly round,
He used his good
judgement and knew it was sound.
All the knights
were seated equally, this I don't jest,
No one could say he was better than the rest.
They were the Knights of the Round Table.

Interesting Facts

Arthur's marriage to Lady Guinevere.
The round table seated fifty knights, but Arthur, including himself, could only find
thirty- three knights noble enough to sit at his table.
After the knights were seated at the round table, they made a vow to work for only God's purposes. They were to be "gentle to the weak, courageous to the strong, terrible to the wicked, merciful to all men, gentle of deed, true in friendship, and faithful in love."
The seat across from Arthur's seat was the Seat Perilous. This seat was for the knight who completed the Quest for the Holy Grail. This knight was Sir Galahad.
Some other famous knights were Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, Sir Segremore, Sir Gareth, Sir Tristram.
