What are the different kinds of teeth?

There are four different kinds of teeth.  They are:

Incisor - Your four front teeth on the top and on the bottom are incisors.  These are the biting teeth.  They have a sharp, straight, cutting edge.

Canine - A canine tooth is a cuspid.  It has a single pointed cusp or bump.  The canine teeth are used to tear pieces of food.  The edge of the canine tooth is sharp and pointed.  This tooth has one root.  The canine tooth is also called a cuspid or dogtooth.

Premolars - These teeth are called the grinding teeth.  They do not have sharp points, but they do have cusps.  The cusps help to crush pieces of food.  The premolars teeth are wide and have one or two roots.

Molars - Molars are stonger grinding teeth.  They look like premolars, but they are a little bigger.  These teeth have two or three roots.  Molars are found in the back of your mouth.  They are used to grind food.
