Grant Hill

Grant Hill is an inspiration to all true fans of the game of basketball. Not only is he a super star in the NBA, but he is also a great role model off the court.

Grant was born in Dallas Texas November 5, 1972. His father, Calvin Hill, played for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. His mother, Janet Hill, stayed at home with Grant for the first years of his life. Grant’s parents believed in strong values. Each night he had a curfew of ten o’clock. One night when Grant missed his curfew, his mother smashed his watch against the wall because he didn’t use it. Later, she gave it back to him (fixed) as a birthday present.

Grant went to Duke University, while he was there Duke won two NCAA championships and made three final four appearances. In Grant’s first two years he teamed up with Christian Laettner and Bobby Hurley to win consecutive NCAA championships. After Christian and Bobby left and a year had passed Hill again led his team to the Final Four.

In the NBA he was elected to the all – star game with the most votes, as a rookie! In his first season Grant led the NBA in triple doubles, which he continued to do threw his next three seasons.
