After one season at Georgia Tech he was named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press and decided to become a pro and. Stephon had an excellent rookie, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to the playoffs for the first time ever in franchise history. At Georgia Tech Stephon was named to the ACC First Team, becoming only the fifth freshman in history to do that. Stephon was later named the ACC Rookie of the Year. He was a unanimous selection to the All-Tournament team after scoring an average 22 points in three games. Stephon was the first round, fourth pick overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, who then traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for fifth Ray Allen.He was picked to be on the NBA All-Rookie First Team and was second behind Allen Iverson for the rookie of the year award. He now plays for the last place team in the East Conference; the New Jersey Nets, with Keith Van Horn, Jason Willians, and Kerry Kittles.
