Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart was born in Kansas on July 24, 1897. She lived with her grandparents because her parents were on business trips. Earhart was a volunteer nurse in World War 1. The hospital was by an airfield and Amelia became interested in planes.
Amelia became so interested in planes she became the first woman to fly across the Pacific Ocean. She was also the first woman who crossed the Atlantic. In her spare time and in between flights she worked on her two books 20 HRS. 40 MIN., and For The Fun Of It.
Earhart was trying to fly around the world. As she was flying the plane lost radio contact, and she and her plane were never seen again.I think Amelia Earhart was very brave to do all those things that she did and attempt to go around the world.
