The meals at Camp Grady Spruce were pretty good. The food was better than school food, but not as good as home. For example, a typical breakfast consisted of eggs, cereal, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and breakfast burritos.
For lunch, we had hot dogs, pizza, spaghetti, soup, and salad. Some things we ate for dinner were fajitas, chicken fingers, bug juice, and we always had water and fruit.
After our first breakfast, the counselors talked about the food waste. After every meal they weighed how much food waste we had. Before every meal we set a goal for how much waste we would have at the end of the meal. Our waste numbers were: 20, 15, 8, 8, 2, 1, 0, 0, and 8.
Each cabin is assigned Hopper Duty. This is
when your cabin has to set the table and then clean up
afterwards.
Watch out for the tricks the Hoppers play on you! We can't tell you
the secrets.
