Camp Grady Spruce

Devils Island

To get to devils Island we rode on a barge. We climbed up to the top and put red stuff from a cactus on our faces. We all had to pick up one piece of trash to get on the barge and go back to camp.

Devils Island Legend

Once 100,000,000 years ago, a family of Giants called the Boomer's had a baby boy named Island, and a baby girl name Devil. One day they decided to take their babies to the beach. The children were only two years old, but they were bigger than most adults. The two kids decided to build a sandcastle. They dug a moat until they reached water around the castle. When they were done with the moat, they decided to put things on the castle. They took some pebbles and scattered them on it. Next they took some sticks and put lettuce from their picnic on top of them. After the two babies had been dead for 5,000 years, the legend has been passed on from generation to generation. That is how Devil's Island got it's name.
