He went aboard his ship the "Argo". He had many adventures landing at last on the beautiful island of Colchis, where the fleece was meant to be. The king from Colchic, King Aeetis did not wish to give up the fleece. Medea, his daughter, an echatress, fell in love with Jason and promised to help him steal the hide. One night, she led him steal the hide. One night, she led him to a dark gorve where the Golden Fleece, brightly shining like the sun, hung on a branch of a sacred oak tree. A never-sleeping horrid snake was wrapped aroung the tree's trunk, guarding the hide. Medea suddenly put a spell on the horrid beast, and it fell into a deep quiet sleep. Jason greabbed the beautiful Golden Fleece and made off with it and left Medea waiting for the ship, Argo. Quietly, they went sailing off to the sea.
