Parakeets come in many different colors, like shades of blues, greens, yellows and purples. Although nobody has ever bred a red parakeet before.
Parakeets like to spend most of their time in their cages or riding around on their owners.
Most of the time, it can be discovered if your little friend is a male or a female by the color of it's cere-the waxy area above the beak. The males will usually have a deep blue colored cere. The females can have a light blue, tan, whitish or brown.
If you love your bird and take good care of it well, it can be your little buddy from ten to twenty years!
