Foxes and Coyotes

These two are starting to become endangered. Here is more information about them.

Description

Foxes are about 42 inches long and weigh from 7 to 13 pounds. Coyotes are 2 feet tall and weigh from 25 to 50 pounds. The back of a Coyote's ear is almost yellow. Coyotes use facial expressions.

Habitat

These two are similar because they live in very similar places. They live in forest, grassland, and sometimes cities.

Food

They have sharp canine teeth for tearing. Foxes sometimes eat fruit if there is no meat. They sometimes use special hunting routes. These two animals eat wild rabbits and other small mammals.

Life Style and Caring For Young

Foxes and coyotes have small packs. Foxes have 1-2 pups, wolves have 1-5 pups. Both can up to 12 pups. Foxes have their babies toward spring. They live ten years. Some interesting facts are that some foxes can climb trees and that a coyote can hear a mouse scurring under a foot of snow.
