The fighting at the Peach Orchard was some of the heaviest of Gettysburg. Union's General Sickles's Third Corps was in a peach orchard. Hood, a Confederate, and his men, rushed the Union. The Union didn't break and run under pressure. When the battle was over, a cannonball had taken Sickles's legs and an artillery shell fragment shattered one of Hood's arms.
