Robert E. Lee was born on January 19th, 1807. He lived at Stratford, Virginia. Lee was a caring person. When Robert went off to West Point, his mother wrote to a cousin, “ How will I get on without Robert? He is both a son and daughter to me.” On June 30th, 1831 he was married to Mary Rudolph Custis.
