Sean, I would love to go to Mars. Studying its geology would help us understand the Solar System and Earth. Some of the images of Mars show us signs of ancient rivers! Where did all the water go? I think that the best way to find out would be to see for ourselves. Mars is a long way from Earth, but the sooner we go, the closer it will get! Of course once we get there, we will be a long way from home. But distance didn't stop Egyptians from exploring North America; or the Polynesians from exploring Hawaii; or millions of children who venture into unknown worlds everyday. Mars is a great proposal because of its geology, its possible water, and most of all, its distance is close enough to lure us, but far enough to challenge us in ways that will demand the growth of our humanity.
