I was brought up on science fiction. I will always think of the red planet as the planet who's inhabitants invaded us. Those nasty grey blobs with long tentacles. I'd rather leave them be. If there is a promise for us in space I think it's much further away then Mars. To far away for us to go there using present technology. But do we have time to wait. Can we keep ourselves from destroying earth or will we be forced to go to other planets even if it turns out we can't live there?
