When Snake Bites The Sun

There were once two suns, a mother and a daughter. They both slept in hollow logs. Then one day the mother sun got stuck in her log. "Go up in the sky without me" she said to her daughter "and bring light to the world!"

The little sun went up into the sky alone and went to see her friend. He lived on an island with another man. But the other man was bad and threw a spear at the little sun so she went up very high in the sky where a great snake lived and it came up to her and bit her.

So she fell down towards the earth and got caught up in a forked tree. Then she fell down to her mother and she looked after her. And now whenever the sun goes up it is the little sun making her journey across the sky and whenever the sun goes down it is the little sun going back to her mother.
