I think we should land on the Moon because we have more information on the Moon than any other planet or moon besides Mars. Nine Apollo missions went to the Moon and six of them actually landed on it. NASA has brought back samples of the Moon's surfaces (rocks soil etc). We also know the liquids or ice were on the Moon. The Moon was first visited by the Soviet spacecraft Luna 2 in 1959. It is the only extraterrestrial body to have been visited by humans. The first landing was on July 20, 1969 the last was in December 1972. In the summer of 1994, the Moon was very extensively mapped by the little spacecraft Clementine. Lunar Prospector is now in orbit around the Moon. The Moon has also given information on questions and theories. Like how the Moon and Earth was born. |
The Moon is very much like are Earth. It may have been part of our planet and it might have a lot in common with Earth. Plus this is the first place of where we can live in the future because this plce is the place closest to EARTH.
