Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are both in fifth grade and eleven years old as of 1999. Sam goes to Mantua Elementary School and Nick is homeschooled. When we're not creating websites for ThinkQuest, we play soccer on the same team and we're in the same Webelos Cub Scout den. Nick also studies piano and percussion, and Sam takes piano lessons. Sam likes math, science, and history in school; Nick likes all his subjects, and also enjoys attending a chess club.
To create this website, we met about once a week for three months. Instead of using a web page editor, we typed the code and content ourselves using Notepad. We used a desktop PC and a laptop at Nick's house, and Sam used a Mac and a PC at his house. We scanned our photos in using a flatbed scanner. Nick's brother helped us with the Java Script. We did all of the planning and some of the research and writing together, and we also divided up some of the work to do individually. Nick made the animated lightning graphic for the Power Failure Page, and Sam made the electromagnet picture and the charger picture for the Experiments page. |
