Capricorn ( or Capricornus ) is usually called "The sea goat" or "The Goat-fish". The name really means the horned goat. This constellation is ancient and was one of the earliest members of the zodiac. Perhaps transferred from far older concerns.

Capricornus is a very important constellation, but is also one of the faintest constellations of all.
