
Sea turtles live in mostly warm waters.
The leatherback turtles are the largest living turtle. It
weighs about 1,200 lbs. Sea turtles have limbs modified into
flippers which allow them to migrate long distances.
When a female sea turtle goes on land to
lay her eggs, she and her eggs are easy prey to shoreline
predators. When a female sea turtle lays her eggs, she
buries them to protect them. When a baby sea turtle hatches,
it still has to dig out of the hole and cross the beach. The
baby sea turtles are easy prey to shoreline predators. The
baby sea turtles who make it to the ocean still have to
watch out for
sharks.
