The English Cocker Spaniel

An English Cocker Spaniel is a specific type of dog. Here is a description of what the general appearance of one would be like. They are very alive with energy. They are able to cover ground effortlessly. They are bred for and enjoy hunting. Males weigh 28 to 34 pounds and females from 26 to 32 pounds. Now I will get to more specific parts of this breed. First we'll start with he head. It is round and has no sharp angles. The eyes are medium, slightly oval, and set wide apart. The ears are set low while lying close to the head. They hang down to the nose and are well covered with straight, silky, or slightly wavy hair. The next body part(s) are the neck and body. First the neck is muscular yet graceful, and arched towards the head. The body is compact, well knit, and giving the impression of strength without heaviness. The chest is deep, yet not too wide so to interfere with the forelegs, and not too thin as to make front legs appear narrow or pinched. The tail is dockedand always in motion while the dog is active. Now we'll discuss the forequarters. The forelegs are straight with the bone almost uniform in size from nearly the elbow to heel. The feet are firm, round, and catlike, the toes are arched and tight with thick pads. And at last we have finished this description of the English Cocker Spaniel.
