| As TAG (Talented & Gifted) Coordinator for the Bethel School District I have the opportunitiy to work with students and teachers throughout the district who have an exciting range of abilities and talents.Among the varied duties of that position,working with students and teachers on technology projects is easily the most exciting. The variety of skills involved in the creation of content related web pages, multimedia stacks, computer sideshows, digital photography and computer video, draws upon interdisciplinary, and indeed artistic, skills to creatively solve problems. Keeping up has been both challenging and rewarding. My professional career has taken me through 15 years of teaching in Iran, Egypt, Bangladesh and Brazil, as well as teaching positions here in Oregon and Washington. The advent of Internet communication has allowed me to easily keep in touch with my former students and colleagues from around the globe. From a very personal perspective, the Internet has transcended distance and international borders to facilitate the continuation of sharing ideas and experiences between myself and international friends. The colloborative nature of the ThinkQuest projects appears to be the embodiment of that concept. |
