Abraham Lincoln was assasigninated at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., only a few minutes after 10 'clock.  While the killer (John Wilkes Booth) was jumping off the 12 foot high balcony, his spur got stuck in the United States flag.  When he finally fell to the ground, he broke his leg.  He was able to get out of the theatre, hop on a horse, and ride away.  Twelve days later, he was cornered in a barn by federal troops and shot.  The next morning, April 15th, at 7:22, Lincoln died in his bed.  Many, many people grieved his death, even his enemies.
