A Vital Battle, BULL RUN!!!!

This is the site of the monument where an entire New York regiment fell to the Rebel forces. The two green cannons represent the Rebel soldiers. The tomb represents all the Union soldiers.

The house you see in the background was once burned, the windows shattered, and practically destroyed. In the first battle of Bull Run the Union caught the Rebels off guard. The battle raged for 5 hours. The Rebels finally retreated.

This church was once used as a Civil War hospital. People living in the area helped the wounded Rebels. This stone church is right by Bull Run and has been fully restored.

This brave, cunning Rebel soldier, was once known as Gen. Thomas Jonathan Jackson. How he got the name we know him by is from the phrase, "There stands Jackson like a Stonewall, rallying behind the Virginians."

This house with stood two, not one, but two cannon ball shots. Also, it was used as a hospital during the first and second battles of Bull Run. These battles were also called The Battles of Manassas.
