Llama Packing

For centuries llamas have been raised in South America as packing animals. A good packing llama is calm, trusting and able to to work with humans. They are used for a variety of different packing trips; some bed and breakfasts even include llamas to carry the gourmet meals to day hikers, and others use them on serious over night hikes. Hunters are also known to use llamas to carry their supplies and gear. There are many reasons people choose llamas over the other pack animals, they are sure footed, their hooves are less damaging to the enviorment, they eat as they go. They also don't require as much food as other pack animals, and they are very maneuverable.
