Breeding Your Llama
There are a few ways to go about breeding a llama. If someone has a female and a heard sire or another male llama they can be bred. To breed a female llama you usually pay a stud fee to someone who owns a male llama if they do not own one themself. Arrangments are made between the both parties and one of you gets the cria excetra (llamas rarely have more than one cria).
When someone starts breeding their llama they must find out if the llama they are breeding their own is actually stud material. To find that out they must evaluate the llama. Here are some things that someone who is evaluating another llama should think about:
Bloodlines: Make sure the llama has a background of other good llamas and there is nothing that might affect the cria (like genetic deffects).
Structure: Make sure the llama has good confirmation and bone density is greater than average.
The llama's owners who you are breeding your llama to may also want to know the llama who is gowing to be bred's blood lines. When ever someone buys a llama it is good to get their blood line charts with a family tree that traces back at least three generations.
