ALPACAS
Alpacas and llamas are close relatives. Alpaca fiber is still very popular and high in demand. There are only about 12,000 in North America today.When the Incas ruled in South America, officials were the only people who wore Alpaca fiber.
Appearence: They are much smaller even though they look large.They look this way because their fiber is so thick, underneath all of it they are much smaller than llamas.They look this way because their fiber is so thick, underneath all of it they are much smaller than llamas. Alpacas come in 22 different colors.
Two types of Alpacas:
Suri: fiber is curly and forms locks and not fluffy.
Huacaya: fiber is fluffy and semi crimped.
Here are some atributes that make Alpacas so amazing:
1. They are great with children
2. They are known to almost never spit at humans
3. Some owners make money by selling their fiber.
These are just a few reasons Alpacas are such wonderful animals to have as a pet.
