Our state of purpose is to help the youth stay away from drugs, cigarettes, gangs, alcohol abuse of all kinds, and family problems.
N. Y. C. hopes that kids will realize the ways not to get in situations were they get asked or forced to do something they don't want to do. Some of the people in N. Y. C. have been through the problems we give information on.
The people in our group are as follows:
There are five kinds officers in this group, one for each of us. The first is the
President (Katie). She will try to keep all in line! She will have the last word on all of the votes, but that does not mean that her vote is more important than anyone else in the group!
Then there is the Vise President (Whitney). She will help the President with hard disesions that she has to make!
Then there is the Secretary (Era) she will write down and take notes on all that is needed to. She will also give a lot of suggestions.
Then there is the runner & treasurer (Paxton). She will do all of the things that need to be done for the group, besides the really big stuff like research. She will also keep all the things that need to be kept.
Then finally there is the councilor (Claire). She will help with the problems in the group and also help the secretary (Era) if she gets tired.
Everyone gets to keep her job for the whole time unless someone does not want to, and she changes her mind. Then we will vote and that person can be kicked out of that Position.
We elect by voting and the majority always rules.
In N. Y. C. we solve problems by voting. Normally, majority wins but of course the President has the rule over the final decision. If the rest of N. Y. C. doesn't agree with the President then we will go to the councilor and other groups.
If N. Y. C. has a disagreements then we would probably go straight to the
President. She would then tell us if we should go to the teacher, or our councilor.
If a member is uncooperative and will not do her share of the work we would vote to move her out of her office to a lower office. This vote would have to be unanimous without the uncooperative person.
To change anything in our constitution, we will have a vote. It must be a unanimous choice, otherwise we will not change.
We, the undersigned, agree to follow this constitution as we work together.
