Martha Washington's Adult

In 1749, she became Mrs. Daniel Parke Custis, not two years after her first ball. Daniel was twice her age. They had four children, but two died in infancy. Their marriage ended when he died on July 8, 1757. She remarried in 1759 to George Washington. Their wedding was at her home on the Pamukey River. They had no children together. When she was an adult a black servant that she grew up with told her, "You were always the prettiest girl in Virginia, but now you are the most beautiful woman in the world."
