The
Negro Teams
The teams that
played in the Negro leagues were talented and entertaining as those
in today's Major and Minor Leagues. There were many
Negro teams, and most every one of them had famous players. The Homestead
Grays had famous players like Josh Gibson, who hit about 75 home
runs, and Buck Leonard, who played spectacular on first base.
The teams in the Negro
Leagues played from about 1910-1955 until they were allowed to play in
the Major and Minor Leagues with the whites. There were 21 different terrific
teams.
