The Ring-tailed Lemur looks like a lot of animals, but mostly looks like a monkey. It is primarily found in Madagascar. The ring tailed lemur is the largest lemur in the world and is about the size of a cat. It has a long, black and white striped tail. They have big eyes a small face also their front teeth show a little.
Even though you would find most other lemurs in the trees you can see the ring tailed lemur on the ground. When it is on
the ground it likes to play with others.It is a herbivore so it
mainly eats plants.
When a lemur baby is born it immediately climbs on to the
mothers stomach. When the baby is about two weeks old it gets on to the mothers back. Lemurs are caring mothers so when ever there is danger the baby knows exactly who to run to.
People have to be careful around lemurs because they will
bite at random . But even with the biting risk lemurs are very
popular in zoos.
