The Red-eyed Leaf Frog
There are many frogs in the Tropical Rain Forests and the Red Eyed Leaf Frog is one of them. This tiny frog is known for its red eyes. Even though its eyes are red, it is color blind, even to red. At night, the pupil covers the whole entire eye. The Red Eyed Leaf Frog is nocturnal, it hunts at night and sleeps during the day. In the daytime, it hunches into a green ball and blends into the surrounding green vegetation. It does this so that it can not be seen by predators. The Red Eyed Leaf Frog is able to stay underneath leaves and stay stuck on the bottom because of it's adhesive toepads. There are small "discs" on the bottom of their feet and these small discs make friction with the surface that they are hanging from, so they are able to stay on the smooth surface. The Red Eyed Leaf Frog is not poisonous unlike the Poison Dart Frog who also lives in the Tropical Rain Forest. The Red Eyed Leaf Frog is a very cute animal.
