Coati
The Coati is a really cool mammal. The Coati also known as the coatmundi. A coatmundi is a mammal resembling the raccoon. They have a long tail and a flexible snout. The snout is very useful for grubbing in the soil to get insects and other small animals. They can climb trees to eat birds and animal eggs. They also climb trees to get fruit if it is available. There is a group called the band there are about four to twenty Coatis that travel with their young. The Coati band spends most of it's day searching for food. The Coati grooms itself by a companion nibbling on their fur.
There are two Coati species known. There is one in Mexico and one in Central America. The Coati that is found in Central America has brown fur and the Coati that is from Mexico is smaller than the Coati in Central America and it has red fur.
All male Coatis live alone but when it's mating season they live with a female. The female will live with their bands to bear their young. The Coatis make nests that are built in trees for their young. The Coati is an awesome animal!
