A tornado is a whirling wind that’s funnel shaped. A tornado in water is called a waterspout. A common time for tornadoes are in the spring and summer. The average diameter of tornadoes are only .4 kilometers, but the path averages 6 kilometers. Tornadoes only last a few minutes, but since they are so severe they can do much damage. The greatest amount of tornadoes is assumed to be in North America, but scientists are not sure because they didn’t count.
