During a small thunderstorm over a warm tropical sea, the warm air rises, collecting water as it gets higher. The cooler air, which rushes into the gap left by the rising warm air, soon warms up and rises too. This makes winds grow stronger, and swirl around each other, spinning the clouds like a giant spinning wheel.
