Falconry is a sport that lets you train birds of prey mainly for hunting.  A lot of different birds can be used for this sport.  Mainly only falcons, buzzards, and hawks are used.  It is called a sport because it is a type of hunting.  This sport was not made up until 800 years after the death of Christ.

    In the Middle Ages the sport of falconry was used mostly by nobles.  Yoemen were allowed to use sparrowhawks and goshawks.  Pages were allowed to use a kestrel.  They used mainly birds of prey.

    Now you have to have a license to do falconry in the United States.  Falconry is often called an art.  It is called an art because of the birds and their behavior.
