The bald eagle has a black body with a white head and tail.  The bald eagle is a symbol of the United States.

There is an estimated 9,000 bald eagles.  They weigh 8 to 13 pounds.

The bald eagle lives in high mountains.  The bald eagle loves to eat fish.  The bald eagle makes its nest out of mud and twigs.  Its wings are 6-7 feet long.

DDT is  a problem to bald eagles.  DDT makes the egg shell very soft.  DDT is a short way of saying Dichlor-Dipheny-Trichoroethane.  Farmers put DDT on their plants to keep the bugs away.

Now the government has laws against killing bald eagles.
