A Teacher's Perspective

I am interveiwing my teacher who had a legally blind student in her class.

TQ- Was it hard to teach a blind student?

Teacher- It was not difficult for him to learn, because he was a smart boy. The hard part was finding large print material for him. Because he was legally blind, he could only see things that were magnified.

TQ- Did he have special equipment?

Teacher- He had a magnifying device with a light that enlarged the print.

TQ- Did he go to special therapy?

Teacher- Not during school hours.

TQ- How did he become blind?

 Teacher- He was blinded during birth.

TQ- Did he act differently?

Teacher- He tried to do everything everybody else did. He was really organized because he had to be able to find his things easily.The other kids were very helpful.
