Treatment Of Cerebral Palsy

Here are some treatments for cerebral palsy. Each type of cerebral palsy requires a different kind of therapy. Each child who has cerebral palsy needs individual care. Most types of cerebral palsy are helped by physical therapy.

If possible the child may be able to walk or move without any help. Walkers and braces on the child's feet and legs may help some who cannot walk on their own. While the child has braces on his feet or legs he may have better support while walking.

The child may develop their own self care such as dressing, feeding, and using the toilet themselves. Some children may face problems like bad hearing, sight, and speech problems. Speech classes, special glasses, therapy, and hearing aids may fix some of these problems.

The child may take medications to control seizures. Therapy may help the child feel confident and be better able to take responsibility for himself.
